The international airport at Zihuatanejo (ZIH) is served by several US and Canadian airlines, as well as Mexican airlines. In less than a day, you can leave your world behind, and discover the paradise that is Los Suenos, Troncones!

The village is about 35 kms (+/- 35 minutes) north of the airport.

By Taxi: A taxi to Troncones is MX900 (about $65 USD depending on the exchange rate). The return trip is about MX800. ($65 USD). A Suburban costs more and has a capacity of 8 adult passengers.

By Car: You can rent a car at the airport (Hertz, Alamo, Budget, Thrifty and National). If driving, follow Mex200 (Zihuatanejo-Lazaro Cardenas) north through Zihuatanejo and continue to the turnoff to Troncones (about 25 miles).

NOTE: If you make rental arrangements online with one of the major auto rental companies, the “confirmed” rate probably does not include Mexican auto insurance, which you are required to have in Mexico. Your American auto insurance is not valid in Mexico. Insurance from your credit card is not accepted. Mexico requires Mexican insurance, nothing else. Do not be surprised if the rate you are required to pay when you arrive in Mexico is much higher than what you were quoted online.

By Bus: Combis and buses are not regularly scheduled, so sometimes there is a wait involved, but the combi will take riders to the bus stop at the top of the Troncones road. Taxis are plentiful in Troncones, to get around the immediate area, as well as for transport to the airport.
